Portrait of Isa Abilov

01 · Introduction

Designer first, founder at heart.

I'm Isa Abilov, a Senior Product Designer based in Baku with 10+ years of experience.

I design payment products — apps, terminals and merchant tools used every day — and have also shipped government and mobility services.

What drives me is taking something complex and making it feel simple, then staying with the team until it ships.

02 · My journey

My journey.

I didn't start in a product team. I started with client work, built my own products, and brought what I learned back into design.

  1. 2015 — 2018

    Freelance & agency

    Client work

Websites and interfaces for businesses, in-house at ElitSolutions in Baku and on contract for MileStone Yazılım in Türkiye, built hand in hand with developers from day one.

    • World Telecom
    • Kontakt Home
    • KKitapdostum
    • EElitSolutions
    • MMileStone Yazılım

Isa Abilov · A design only matters once it's built.

  2. 2016 — 2017

    Founder

    Udeline

My first startup. Built it from scratch and took it to market.

  3. 2018 — 2022

    Co-founder · Lead designer

    Fonibo

A multi-service delivery platform. Built the team, launched the product and raised $100K+ in investment, growing to 20K+ active users and 600–800 daily orders.

  4. 2019 — 2024

    Full-time & contract

    From screens to systems

A customer support platform at Whelp and remote product design for Senpex, a US delivery platform, plus hiring and payments products: flows, product logic, design systems and developer handoff.

Isa Abilov · Good UI starts long before the UI.

  5. 2021 — 2025

    Full-time

    Into fintech

Sole designer at Payriff: mobile app, merchant dashboard, CRM and design system, plus Abhipay for Pakistan and the CityCard transit app. In 2021 I also led UX/UI at the Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

Isa Abilov · Real money raises the bar for every edge case.

  6. 2021 — Now

    Full-time

    Payments at scale

Primary designer of the Mpay ecosystem: 12+ products on one design system and 500K+ app downloads, including shipping PalmPay. Since 2024 I've also taught and mentored designers at FLOW Education.

    • PalmPay
    • FFLOW Education

Isa Abilov · The best product decisions happen between teams, not inside them.

03 · My products

Things I've built.

Alongside client and product work, I build my own products — end to end, from the first sketch to real users.
